THIS AREA IS UNIQUE BECAUSE IT CONTAINS THE ONLY HARDWOOD FOREST IN THE STATE IN ADDITION TO TALLGRASS PRAIRIE. THERE ALSO ARE LOESS BLUFFS ALONG THE RIVER, A GLACIAL FORMED SOLID EARTH BLUFF, WHICH IS CHARACTERISTIC OF THE AREA
